Vision of future mobililty

Autonomous vehicles, anticipatory and empathic cars, drones and always on time. The future of transportation. How Nissan thinks about this?

Every car manufacturer is working on the future. More than ever, one feels the breath of new entrants and technological developments. Statements like: children who are born now are not in need of a car later. We hear this more and more. The car industry is a shrinking market, according to a report by ABN AMRO.We get more insights to ensure that we do not need a car no longer.

At Extend Limits we discuss many of these new concepts. Nissan has recently published a video in which they outline their vision of the future. We see a car which, of course, is completely autonomous. Interesting because Toyota has claimed at CES 2017 that complete autonomous driven cars are not in our reach for the upcoming decades. Of course we see the concept of sharing and we can consume endless media in the car. A car that is connected with everything so that you will never face any surprises. A utopian picture which is characterized by extrapolating much of our contemporary thoughts. The question is whether this is a realistic image for the future? We think it might be very different than we are looking at it now. Indeed, the future can not be predicted by extrapolating from the contemporary world.

The second video shows a vision of Hyundai. This view shows how the car is an integrated part of your home. The car's interior is designed to suit the house. And if the car is not used for transport , it is occupying a function in the house

Two visions of the future role of the car. A future in any case is radically different for our four-wheeler.
