One of the biggest problems in healthcare is created by the foods we eat. We talk about the ever growing cost of healthcare but we do not think about the sh.t we buy in stores. Besides this we hardly think about the things marketing departments make us believe about the sh.t we eat and drink.
The speaker in the video talks about how marketing is tricking people to buy the foods which are so unhealthy for them. Like I always say in my presentations which isn’t many times much appreciated by marketers: marketing and advertising is still a way of lying accepted by society. Of course we see a new shift in the field of marketing. A shift turning towards a more meaningful way of marketing. But still many companies are becoming big by doing wrong. The biggest challenge we are facing is to fundamentally change the way we produce and and consume. We have created a society which is totally addicted to a way of living which is not sustainable.
The audience is shocked by the presentation but at the end they get the mother of all shocks when there is told that the biggest and most successful to for marketeers are the consumers themselves. It is all about the will full ignorance of yourself when walking into a supermarket. You do not want to think about where the foods come from or how it is made. And that’s so true! Marketing has created sheeple. Consuming ignorant sheeple and that’s the biggest shock. But happily we are waking up! More consumers are becoming aware about the way they can make a difference by spending their money in a different way.
