Humans as transparent machines
A very impressive video about todays society which functions on data…our data!
In The Netherlands and Belgium the news was recently dominated by the fact that people should disable the webcams because it could be hacked. Well of course this isn’t really news because we should already know that everything which is digital can hacked and is available. The digital world isn’t totally secure just like the physical world. I believe that a lot of people are unaware of the trails they leave behind in the virtual world. The are also not aware of what hackers already can do. Technology has also a dark side.
So what is privacy in a world where physical merges with our digital world? In the upcoming years we will hear a lot more about personal data being exposed to people who aren;‘t supposed to see the data. It is the era of ethical questions and digital exces. It will show us how vulnerable we are in the digital world. It wil also fuel the trend against the every growing importance and dependance of our virtual world. Virtual is becoming the old normal, physical will become the new unique. It will fuel the rise of the trend where people will reclame their personal data. Your data will become a currency. You will also learn how to protect your data and give access to it when you want it and to whom or which organization.
We as a human are becoming more transparent. This transparency is great but one thing is very important. We want to be in control of who sees and uses which personal data. In other words: we want to be in control, not governments or companies. And this trend will become much more important and dominant when we will experience more electronic excesses.
