Holographic politicians
Politics could be the next big thing for holograms. After the use of holograms in the Indian presidential elections the American elections are next. Will the use of holograms make the difference?
Returning from a political recess because of a major political event. A president flying around the world three time because of diplomatic tensions. Possibly this is soon history, if the path of the recent Indian elections is followed. One of the presidential candidates traveled around the immense country to win votes, partial as a hologram. This way he was in many places at the same time. Moreover he used the holograms of past presidents of his political party to emphasise his statements. Eventually Modi was elected as president of India; maybe because of the use of holograms.
Holographic breakthrough?
It is expected that holograms are used in more upcoming presidential elections. The upcoming US presidential election for example, is an event where emerging technologies can make a difference. Remember the 2008 elections, which were decided by Obama by cleverly making use of then-emerging social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook. In the 2016 elections I expect not only the candidates as a hologram, but also deceased presidents. From Kennedy to Reagan, from Lincoln to Nixon, they can all take back their holographic comeback on the political stage.
Just like the social media platforms after 2008, I expect that the holograms after 2016 will be more commonplace after the U.S. 2016 elections. Companies like HologramUSA anticipate on that possiblity today. The holograms will not only appear in the entertainmentindustry and in political arenas, but also fin education, healthcare and business. Holograms used by the main public: it will be as common as smartphones?
