Augemented reality let's you 'fit' online clothes
Beside the great example of augmented reality (AR) in shops by Lego we see also lots of possible applications for usage in house. What about seeing if online clothes look good on you?
The online store Tobi uses the possibilities of augmented reality to let people try new clothes online. You say what??? Yes, physical shopping has one big advantage. and that is that you can easily see how something looks at you and how it fits. Well for the first one (how it looks on you) augmented reality provided the solution for online shops. It is called Fashionista and with this you can just see how good that dress or shirt looks on you. A great way to use AR for online shops. Can't wait till the first online shops provide it here.
With this online service Tobi gives an extra dimension in online shopping. Besides seeing how it looks on you, you can also share it with your friends on Facebook or Twitter.
Like I said in my posting about Lego and their usage of augmented reality physical shops need to act quickly in investing in the shopping experience of their consumers. This because they are quickly loosing ground to online shops because online shops are mostly cheaper and information is better available. With the usage of augmented reality in online shops competionbetween online and offline shops will become even harder.
