What will the future of marketing be?
Paul Isakson became also famous because of his great presentation on Slideshare about the future of Marketing. Now he published a new version of this presentation on Slideshare. Again great stuff!
The main message of Paul Isakson is that advertising is dead and that marketing (the new way) will rise the coming years. Now, I wonder if the world still listens to marketing (the old concept of marketing) in organisations? But, just like Paul I conclude that marketing must make a gigantic shift. A shift towards a really and honest conversation with customers where selling is a second goal. This must be the goal of marketing in the future.
The gap between consumers and organisations becomes day by day bigger because consumers, communication and technology develop revolutionary and organisations and management evolutionary(Tony Bosma)
Paul Isakson mentions eight changes for the future of marketing . And these eight are very important for marketing!
- The future of marketing is collaborative
- The future of marketing is generous
- The future of marketing is experimental
- The future of marketing is helpful
- The future of marketing is playful
- The future of marketing is personal
- The future of marketing is honest
- The future of marketing is participatory
The future of marketing is not about doing and saying things to people. The future of marketing is about doing and saying things with people.
