Volvo: brings deliveries to your car
We read a lot about the autonomous car of the future. But besides driving itself your car of the future could do a lot more. Volvo demonstrates the future connected car.
Of course a connected car is not only about being able to send and share information. A connected car needs services. A lot of services to make life easier. And of course companies can make money.
Volvo talks about connected services. Services which make life a little bit better. We all park our car and then it stands there just waiting for you to return. Waiting and doing nothing. Isn’t that stupid.
When your car is connected it can do a lot of extra things. Volvo introduced their digital keys which is an app which can open and close your car. It also gives the owner of the car the possibility to give other people temporarily access to the car. This makes it possible to use your car, when it is standing there on it’s parking spot, to receive/collect products. From a distance you can monitor the car and close it when the goods are delivered. A connected car gives you a lot of possibilities and these will become a reality very soon.
I really love the service where the car finds it’s own parking spot!
