U.S. Navy: Creating fuel from seawater
The US navy recently announced that they had successfully turned seawater into fuel. Is warfare really getting greener? Before we become to happy about this. It will still needs lots of years to make this a reality.
Ok, it will still need a lot of years to develop but already a small RC airplane flew with this kind of fuel. The vision of the U.S. Navy is to have ships which are able to generate fuel from seawater. This fuel can be used for the ships themselves and of course the airplanes. It will be the end of the great oil tanker. The U.S. Navy says it will take years to develop this for finally practical usage on our seas. Maybe this could also be an interesting innovation for the commercial ships and transport. A world less dependent of oil is what we all want.
