A young man from India developed an app which makes it possible to test your urine with app. You can test it for several diseases. Healthcare will make a big transformation because of this development.
The future of healthcare is mobile. Mobile internet and the internet of things will make healthcare become less independent of location. Ucheck is an example of this development. In this TED-video Ingawale, a young man from India will show you how to test your urine or blood with an app.
How it works? Well you don’t have to pee over your smartphone. The app uses wearable sensors, which collect data, this data is shown on your phone via the app. It is also possible to share the data with a doctor. This makes is easy to share your health realtime with you doctor without having to travel. Ingawale says that healthcare will be democatised by this development.
For now the app costs 20 dollars in the appstore. That’s a lot of money and you still have to buy the sensors? These kind of innovations reduces the costs of healthcare in Western countries but will also be a solution for countries in the poorest regions. Here many people have to walk sometimes for days to visit a doctor and now this isn’t necesary anymore.
