The future development of energy looks like the development of PC's. First only central computing facilities were available, now every person has access to one or more personal computers. This will also be the future of power plants.
The future househould is an energy consumer and supplier. The introduction of smart energy meters it will be possible to measure for each household the consumption of energy, in that way the energy suppliers are able to anticipate on the power consumption and production. The introduction of an energy grid in the future it will be possible to use the energy generated by the households. In that way the dependency on central power plants will decrease.
