Insecten als inspiratiebron voor de toekomst van robotica

Our own environment is a source of inspiration for new technologies and products. Nature found a lot of solutions for problems we humans still face. So are some insects able to travel large distances by flying and can crawl small distances. This with the same body. Researchers at the Case Western University (Ohio, US) develloped so called Whegs. These are robots equipped with a cross between wheels and legs. Just like insects these robots move through our world. The military is very interested in this technology and I am interested in the usage of this technology in society. What can this technology bring us?
