How physical and virtual merge

How physical and virtual merge

The trend already exists for years and is called "Trans Reality". Nowadays we see more and more examples of how the world could look like.

Older people can go for a virtual bike ride through Hoogeveen, and get the feeling they are equally mobile again and enjoying the surroundings. This all is possible while using virtual reality. We can see our hotel rooms of potential vacation destinations through VR glasses. Alcohol addictions treatments are possible with virtual reality, and even chicken can profit of virtual reality. They could put on some kind of virtual reality glasses that will make them feel as if they can roam freely. If the examples are progressing is doubtful. But, the trends does increasingly merge the physical and virtual world. We are entering an era in which we navigate seamlessly between physical and virtual. Fantastic! Some people would say. Horrible! Will be the opinion of many others.

For both opinions there is much to say, but eventually we need to find a middle ground. At this moment, we move towards a proliferation of applications where many of them will die and many will be completely over the top. We exaggerate the applications of virtual reality and that will give a natural backlash. Normal process. But one trend is very clear as it involves the outcome. Physical and virtual will merge. If that would look as they show in the video below? Probably not. But it is an interesting vision of the near future.
