Hoe zagen wij het Internet...een prachtige flashback

It seems a long time ago but it is not...the first public reports about the internet were about 15 years ago. I don't know when this movie from Youtube was broadcasted but is gives a nice view on how we looked at the internet several years ago. A few of the things which made me decide to put this movie on Extendlimits are the sound of dailing up the internet and the explanation of emoticons. Really great how that worked a few years ago. There are also a few inspiring quotes about how people thought about the Internet a few years ago.

Especially the last quote is one we must remember because of the developments with web 2.0 and virtual worlds. but also thing about the differences between the world then and now.

In the movie they talk about 15 million users. In September 2006 Myspace had 106 million users.
Monthly there are 2,7 billion searches on Google;
On an annual bases there is 1,5 exabyte on information produced;
And we hear a PC dailing into the internet when we nowadays have WIMAX and fiber cable.
etc, etc
