Global wealth inequality
There is something fundamentally wrong in the world and systems we have build. This isn’t a hard conclusion when you look at today inequality of wealth. Be warned some of the figures can be shocking.
With the ever growing gap between rich and poor the social unrest is also on the rise. We are creating a worldwide barrel of dynamite in which the fuse sinks deeper and deeper. This is because wealth inequality results in social unrest. And we are creating massively wealth inequality. Many people think about the United States when we talk about inequality of wealth but it goes much further. It is an ever growing worldwide problem.
The embedded video shows us that wealth inequality is something nobody benefits from. So it is time to change the rules and systems whig have resulted in this situation. We have to deal with those governments, institutes and organisations which hold on to this status quo. That will be the biggest profit humanity can achieve.
The video gives a rather negative outlook. A recent study from the world bank gave us another outlook. They said this: About 1.2 billion people in the world lived in extreme poverty in 2010, subsisting on less than $1.25 a day. That’s down from 1.9 billion three decades ago despite a nearly 60% increase in the developing world’s population. The total number of people living in extreme poverty has dropped in every developing region over the past three decades. About 21% of the developing world lived on less than $1.25 a day in 2010. In 1981 it was 52%. The sharpest decline came in China, where the extreme poverty rate fell to 12% in 2010 from 84% in 1981. India’s extreme poverty dropped to 33% of the population from 60% three decades ago.
Those figures give us more hope. I believe we can only take one conclusion and that is that we need to reset the systems and our way of thinking.
