Augmented reality within the Lego shop
How do you get your customers to visit your off-line store? Well engage them and improve the shopping experience with augmented reality.
That's what Lego does in their newest Lego store in San Mateo (V.S.). Lego wants to improve the off-line shopping experience by introducing so called Digital Boxes. These boxes are augmented reality kiosks where consumers will get a 3d and interactive image out of their Lego boxes. This makes the shopping experience much richer because people now can see easier what is all possible with Lego.
Question is if augmented reality will find it's breakthrough in off-line stores. I think it will. But much more technologies like an interactive mirror will find it's way to the shops. Off-line shops have to start innovating and quickly or they will loose the battle with the shop on the internet.
