3d modeshows in Milaan door IBM's multisensor cabine
Technology brings the experience towards every shop. IBM's launched a prototype "multisensory cabin" for shoppers that's reminiscent of a coin-operated viewing machine equipped with a projector. Take a seat in a small, dark box and wear 3-D glasses and you will be able to see scenes from the world's top-tier catwalks. Looking at the virtual show the viewers see flyby close-ups of real-world fashion items.
Will the IBM's multisensory cabin put the high-fashion catwalk in your local department store in the near future. Again a case which shows the ever growing impact of technology in shops. I think technology will be an essential element in the shop of the future and will bring more experience into shopping.
One box costs between 10,000 to 20,000 euro and during a two-week trial 3,200 people stepped into the box. The cabin is a perfect example of "shoppertainment. IBM thinks it will be mainly rent them for short periods and events. But I think that this kind of technology will become mainstraim in the shop of the future.
